Running for Beginners: Two Surefire Ways to Start Running, and Keep Running

Try running slowly for 5 minutes today, and again the next day. Don’t overdo it, just get out there and start. And don’t worry about getting the right running shoes, running apparel, running… I run barefoot, and it feels a heck of a lot better for me! All you need is motivation – you can wear whatever you got lying around. If you have a friend who runs, go out running with them. When you run with someone whose in better shape and more experienced than you, whether that’s your running coach, a friend, or folks from the local running club, they’ll serve as a model for how to run well, and will keep you motivated to keep going, and not fall too far behind. Things like increasing your pace and distance are sure to come up later – for now, just focus on getting that momentum going. This is Tellman Knudson, giving you tips on running.
