What foods should I eat to help me through training?

Question from Mike R
I’m currently training for the upcoming soccer team with my high school team and we have double session all week. We practice from 8-10 which includes fitness and running at the track, a lunch break from 10-12 and then a second session from 12-2 for more soccer related drills. I find myself out of energy when it comes time to start the second session, so what should I eat for lunch to give me more energy for the rest of the day?

Eat some nuts and maybe a protein drink. Also make sure you are properly hydrated.
You may feel like you can’t eat much after exercisinghard, but try and eat carbs like pasta, bread etc. Try and mix it with protien so that it stays in your body longer and does not just get used up in a quick sugar/starch rush, then you have a low. Try and stear away from high fiber foods at lunch. Eat those after training. And maybe keep like a energy or protien bar (or really just something that tastes good to get ur blood sugar going) to eat during the last hour like around 1:30 or so. Not an expert at all, but thats just my two cents
