want to know the benefit’s of running upon sand ?

hi…recently i have started to run upon sand for my overall fitness. I chose it to torch my fats and to increase my endurance.But i want to know the real benefit’s of running upon sand….???

    * Get a great workout in less time. (Your sand-running heart rate will match that of your street-running heart rate, but at lower mileage.)

    * Significantly strengthen lower-body stabilizer muscles.

    * Reduce your chance of injury (you’re forced to run at a slower pace).

    * Get terrific strengthen and resistance training when you hit the deep sand

    * Torch your quads with sand sprints, bettering your overall sprint speed.

    This is a pretty interesting question that I’ve been wondering myself. I live near SW Florida and wanted a better, less damaging, workout for your legs. The person whom answered first seems like he answered it head on.
