Start running as hard as you can and stop at the end.

So a mile and a half is 6 laps on a normal High School track. So you’d need to be able to do one lap in a little over two 2 minutes to complete it in 14 minutes.
    good luckk

Why don’t you get in your car and map out a route of 1.5 miles and then start running it. Time yourself every time and just keep repeating until you have the time down without problems.

First, get in the car and mark a mile. Then run every day, don’t forget to time yourself and most importantly pace yourself. My hubby is retired air force and that is what he tells all the young people. Its not hard, our 17 yr old daughter does it.

Good Luck to you and Thank you in advance for protecting our great country.

What I did in high school was at the beginning of the year when they did my initial fitness assessment, I wore heavy high-top shoes…I wore those whenever I ran and then at the end of the semester I wore lighter running shoes…it made it a lot easier to run. You have to remember to pace yourself though because you will want to run too fast to start.

I can run 2 miles in less than that time, but whatever. Go out at 9 minute mile pace for the first mile. Then if you can run under a 5 minute half mile you will do it. Good Luck!

My father is a mastercheif in the navy i know all about the pt test! and im a 4.30 hs miler im not no coach but my best advice is to invest ina begginers guide for running and flip through it before you buy it and look for a running guide. if that doesnt work if you run your self to death it does no good run(till you feel a little bit of pain) then walk until you can breath normal again..repeat this motion to get your heart in shape..and trust me 3 months in plenty of time running books at a good will should even do!
