I am looking to start a fitness program to help with my hypermobility syndrome. Who should I talk to?

Question from Sarah

I am a young adult female with joint hypermobility syndrome. It effects my ankles, knees, shoulders, elbows, and back. I want to start some sort of strengthening program to help control pain, as well as strengthen the joints and allow me to participate in other fitness activities (running, weight-lifting, etc) without fear of injury and permanent damage. I have done quite a bit of research on my own and discovered that there really is no standard collection of strengthening exercises for people with JHS. My question is–what kind of specialist or therapist should I talk to who can help me with building a personalized strengthening plan?
