How hard is the Air Force Fitness Test?

Question from Private P

I heard you have to do a 1 and 1/2 mile run in 12 minutes, 50 curl ups in 2 minute, and 35 push ups in 2 minutes.

Also, should I still plan to join the Air Force? I can do the run and the curl ups, but cannot do any pushups.

Trying to get into OTS myself and I have been looking into this, and this is the best I have found so far:

The test is based on 100 points, and you need to score at least 70 to pass. I believe you can get up to 10 points each in situps and pushups. You get a minute (I think its 1… maybe 2?) to do as many as possible, with 60+ getting you the max 10 points.

The other two parts are the 1.5 mile run and waist circumference.

If you can do the 1.5 mile run in 12 minutes, have a reasonable waist size, and can do 50-60 pushups/situps, you will probably be fine. If not, its not that hard to start training and get to that point.

Is this the American Air force? If so you just need to watch Top Gun and answer a multiple choice test.

It will probably be something like did Maverick and Goose get it on?

    a) yes, in a very loving gentle way,
    b) only on Tuesdays,
    c) No they were both to manly for man love,
    d) No because Maverick was to into a little green dude called Xenu at the time.

    Hey Pea

Way to be a dumb $#1+
I know retarded third graders who can tell you that Top Gun is about the freaking NAVY. Not the Air Force. So not only is your answer irrelevant, it also revealed you to be a moron who has never been able to enlist. Enjoy life as a fry cook.

Pea>> No, there are no qualifications or requirements. Hence, i suggest it to you.

Joining the Air Force and graduating Basic Training:

To graduate BMT the trainee must complete the minimum standard in all areas. A failure in one area, constitutes a failure in all areas.

    1.5 m run 11:57
    pushups 45
    situps 50

To be considered for the highest fitness standard/honor the trainee must:

    1.5 m run 8:08
    pushups 75
    situps 80
    pullups 10

The test above was based on the “male” fitness category. The female test is somewhat easier.
