A question about cardio fitness?

Question from Nojustice Nopeace
Now all of us gym bods know that if you did bench press on lets say monday… You will be strongest between 4-7 days after your workout. So that would be the perfect time to try a max lets say…And If you were to try it the day after, you would be weaker then before the workout… 2 days after and you’d still be struggling so 4-7 days Is when you will be peaking…But how about running and cardio fitness!?!?…. If I was to do a jog on monday… would I be improved by tuesday or wednesday or a week later or when??? When would I be peaking and would I also be at a disadvantage?

That’s not really how cardio fitness works with running. Endurance running as well as speed work running every day or even every other day of the week will help you increase your cardio fitness. You first work on an aerobic base, which is comes from fitness running and helps your cardio. Then, you focus more on fine-tuning with speed work, which adds anaerobic work. I would say the fastest way to gain cardio fitness when you are not a full-time runner is to run a few miles every other day followed by some fast pace strides. good luck.
