This is the perfect heart rate monitor for women. It is hard to find an accurate strapless heart rate monitor watch, but this is as good as any, without the expensive price tag. It’s easy to take your heart rate even while running. Petite really does mean petite, and is stylish enough to wear every day. Don’t buy an overpriced version when this is perfect. Highly recommended!

The Mio Breeze Petite women’s heart Rate Monitor Watch is a perfect gift for someone who like gadgets but hates too many buttons. It is simple to operate with no cumbersome wires. My hubby had gotten it for me because I have fainted on several hiking excursions. Now we can monitor my heart rate while on any excursion. I love this watch. Its a perfect balance of function and design (which is very important to me). Its sleek and light weight as well.

My wife has had a couple of other heart rate monitor watches. This MIO petite does all that it should in a size that’s really good for a woman. A bit easier to use than prior watches which were not made by MIO. Only downside is the band gets dirty with use (expected), but I’ve not found anything that removes the dirt well.

I bought this thinking it would be better than the Reebok heart rate monitor, since not a single person who reviewed this product mentioned having to press two buttons to get a reading. This does not continuously show your heart rate, because five seconds after you depress the buttons, the screen goes back to time mode. Don’t buy it if you’re using this to monitor your heart rate if you’re riding a bike fast in mountainous terrain.
Other than that it takes pretty accurate heart rate, and the size is perfect for smaller wrists. The design and color is really pretty, too, although if you want a calorie counter, you might want to shell out an extra $10 to get the Mio Petite Women’s Heart Rate Monitor watch (it’s pictured in red on this site).
But the Mio Breeze does what it’s supposed to do, and that’s good enough for me!

I brought this to work to show some friends and it wouldn’t give them a reading. I nearly sent it back. I now get it — you have to be wearing it for a read-out, which the manual does mention. It requires contact at the wrist in addition to the thumb and forefinger buttons on the sides of the unit.
Pros: accurate, easy to operate, comfortable to wear, owner-replaceable battery. This is a big thing, since most comparable Polar watch/monitors have to be sent in for a battery change.
Cons: petite, it’s not. If it weren’t for the baby blue color this would work (size-wise) for men. Read-outs can take from a few seconds to over 10 seconds. I find that if I don’t get a response within 5 seconds it’s best to abort that attempt and try again.
If you buy this watch make sure to apply a steady, firm pressure to the buttons, while actually wearing it. The button at the 9 o’clock position is the one that’s actually taking the reading. As far as I can figure, the button at the 3 o’clock position does nothing.
